The Annual Ryder M. Whitman Outdoorsman Award was created in honor and memory of Ryder Whitman. Each year’s winner will receive a NYS Lifetime Hunting & Fishing license. Ryder was a true outdoorsman. He lived for adventure. Hunting, fishing, trapping, camping, hiking and shooting were his passion. This award will go to an area youth (15 mile radius of Dansville) between the ages of 12-17 who shares the same love and passion for the great outdoors. The application is open every January with the winner being announced in February. There is no fee and no small print. Feel free to apply, if you meet the criteria.
